Colin Parvini, Anaerobic Digestion Plant Manager at Murrow AD

19 January 2026

We’re delighted to welcome Colin Parvini to Murrow AD as our new Anaerobic Digestion Plant Manager.

Colin brings with him more than 25 years of engineering experience, including the last six years working specifically within the anaerobic digestion (AD) and renewable energy sector. Having joined Murrow AD last year from local firm Local Generation, Colin arrives with a deep technical understanding of AD systems and a strong commitment to long-term plant performance.

From food waste to on-farm AD

In his previous role, Colin was Lead Engineer, working primarily with food waste feedstocks. This experience gave him a broad view of AD operations, from managing highly variable inputs to maintaining system balance and performance under demanding conditions.

Living locally to the Murrow AD plant has also made the move particularly enjoyable, allowing Colin to feel closely connected to both the site and the surrounding community.

In his new role, Colin’s primary focus is stability—a word that resonates strongly in the AD world, where operators know that even well-run plants can face sudden challenges.

Building on the strong foundations laid by the previous plant and operations team, Colin is working to:

  • Improve operational efficiency
  • Maximise plant uptime and capacity utilisation
  • Embed new systems that underpin long-term performance and resilience

Encouragingly, the plant has already achieved record-breaking results during Colin’s first three months, and planned investment in upgraded systems will help push performance even further.

“These improvements will allow us to really make use of the capacity the plant has to offer and make an already strong operation even more efficient,” Colin explains.

The power generated at Murrow AD is split between export to the National Grid and local power consumption, demonstrating the positive, circular impact that renewable energy can deliver.

By converting waste into usable energy, the plant supports a green energy cycle that benefits both local operations and UK homeowners—showing how anaerobic digestion plays a vital role in a more sustainable energy future.

In an always-challenging sector, Colin is keen to make his mark by ensuring Murrow AD operates efficiently and reliably for the long term. He values the close collaboration with the wider team who manage the farm and supply the essential feedstocks that keep the plant running.

Outside of work, Colin is a keen golfer and enjoys spending time with his two grandchildren, who also live locally—making Murrow not just a workplace, but very much home.
