Anaerobic Digestion Plant Operator

Pay rate Flexible depending on experience

The role will work on a 4 on/4 off, 12 hour day shift basis, with a scheduled on- call rota of every other weekend.

What will you be doing day to day?

· Working on the daily operational requirements of the AD plant and work with the plant manager to ensure plant is optimised in terms of gas to supply to the grid.

· Agree feed plans for the AD plant with other interested parties and ensure feed plan is designed to maximise gas production.

· Carry out routine plant inspections and make any necessary adjustments to the plant operations, collecting and recording plant data and sharing the information with all relevant parties.

· Carrying out operational procedures to ensure that plant is in a fit state, reporting any defects found and creating a log of plant issues and concerns.

· Work with the Engineering team to identify plant issues to reduce plant downtime.

· Work with 3rd party contractors when they are on-site to carry out service and maintenance activities

· Responding to first line and breakdown maintenance requirements as far as background and experience permits.

· Support the engineering as required with the maintenance activities.

What you’ll need:

  • You’ll demonstrate the highest safety values and always promote a positive attitude to safety.
  • Previous experience of working in an operational role.
  • You will need to be a good communicator and be able to provide a focused approach to delivering customer service.

We’re also looking for:

  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification or equivalent (desirable).
  • Have a good knowledge of the gas industry and current health and safety regulations (desirable).
  • Have experience of working safely on gas sites (desirable).
  • Understand the principles of biogas production processes (desirable).
  • Be able to commute to PE13 4HN.
