Upcoming harvest news
Changes to reduce local disruption
As mentioned previously; to help minimise the impact on the local area, new harvesting contractors have been put in place this year. As part of this change:
· – Harvested feedstocks will be transported to the AD plant in bulkers;
· – This will significantly reduce the number of tractor and trailer movements compared to previous seasons; and
· – Fewer individual journeys will be needed to move the same volume of material, helping to reduce traffic volume, as well as any congestion, and consequently mitigate the disturbance to the community.
Drivers of the bulkers are specifically qualified to do so and, whilst they do have air brakes, the noise generated in comparison to braking tractor and trailer couplings will be reduced.
We set clear expectations of the standards to be adhered to by all drivers associated with the Farm and AD Plant. They are instructed not to use phones and to strictly adhere to speed limits. It is also emphasised that they must be courteous and respectful to all our neighbours at all times.
If you experience anything to the contrary, please do contact us with the following information by emailing communityrelations@adaptbiogas.com
